What is a plastic sealed reed switch
Plastic-encapsulated reed switches consist of a pair of magnetic reeds enclosed in a glass tube filled with an inert gas. The reed ends overlap with a thin gap. The reed contacts are plated with a precious metal, such as rhodium or ruthenium, which provides stable switching characteristics and an extremely long service life.
Plastic-encapsulated reed switches, also known as tongue reed switches or magnetic reed switches, are special magnetically sensitive switches. Our entire series is encased in environmentally friendly ABS plastic or epoxy resin (heat-resistant up to 300°C and wave solderable). They are widely used in vacuum cleaner battery modules, electronic locks, humidifiers, coffee machines, liquid level sensors, beauty equipment, diving equipment, smart toys, instruments and meters, electricity meters, water meters, gas meters, smart home appliances, burglar alarms, sports equipment, and more!
Working principle:
Normally open: When the magnet approaches, the switch is closed, and when the magnet moves away, the switch is open. (In layman's terms, the light turns on when the magnet approaches and turns off when the magnet moves away.)
Normally closed: When the magnet approaches, the switch is off, and when the magnet leaves, the switch is closed. (In layman's terms, the light turns off when the magnet approaches, and turns on when the magnet leaves.)
